Remedy for jawache after dental care????

Hi - I am 12 weeks pregnant and had some dental work done last Wednesday. I had one of my very back teeth filled. My dentist gave me a shot to numb my mouth. My jaw is now throbbing. I called my dentisit and they said it was because the shot had to got through a muscle and that the throbbing should go in away in a couple of days. They suggested I continue taking Tylenol. Called my OB about the Tylenol and they said to take no more that 6 tablets in a 24 hour period. What else can I do for the pain? I can only sleep for about 3 hours before the Tylenol wears off and then I am left in misery for about an hour and half before I can take more and wait for it to kick in. Any advise is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Try icing it down - ice cubes in a baggie wrapped in a wash cloth, 20 minutes on, repeat as needed. It won't get rid of it completely but it really does dull it. Helps with any inflamation too.
Reply:Sorry for the pain maybe try a heating pad with moist heat on your jaw.
Reply:If you can take Ibuprofen while pregnant, that is the absolute best, it helps with pain and inflammation of the muscle and joint
