What do you do when you can't afford more dental care?

I was very sick for a while and during that time pretty much everything crashed on me dental wise, and I already have $16,000+ in dental bills I put on the credit card, $2000 I haven't paid yet, and quite a lot more to go and things still look terrible.

I don't know what I can do besides run my credit card up higher, and eventually I won't be able to do that anymore.

any ideas?

I'm on disability and Medicare has no dental coverage.

What do you do when you can't afford more dental care?
There are places like Social Services and if they can'y help then they can tell you who can.

Call them first. Hope it helps.

Reply:Check your area for a dental school, they offer services at a great discount, you will however spend much more time at a school than an office. You also can try your local health dept., many have a dental clinic.
Reply:Yes, True! A local dental school offers discounted services... sometimes free. However, if you make too much money, you cannot get medical, so if you are stuck with paying on credit, it's better than nothing. Trust me, I went years without dental work and am payin for it now but I am sure glad to be paying for it rather than loosing teeth and being in pain. I was fortunate enough to get to my teeth in time and haven't lost any yet. 5 root canals later with 3 crowns and 5 additional cavitites,... I am in debt too!!!
Reply:I talk to people almost daily that are going though this very same issue, or something similar. They may have health and/or dental coverage, only problem is, what they need done is not covered or is limited.

I will say up front that I am an independent rep with Ameriplan. I truly love helping people to save money on their healthcare costs if at all possible.

In this situation, being on disability and not having dental coverage, instead of paying full price for all of your dental work, you could be saving 25-80%. All ongoing problems are included also, so any work that has already been started will be included as well. The plan only costs $19.95/mo for an entire household, up to 20 people.

Hopefully you are able to find something that will work for you!

Good Luck!
